Dr. Daniel Ovsep Avetikovich visited Abkhazia

Once again, at the invitation and financial support of the Cultural and Charitable Foundation “Ashana”, with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Abkhazia and the “International Foundation Apsny”, a doctor of medical sciences, author of 29 scientific publications and 4 patents for treatment methods, traumatologist-orthopedist Danielyan Hovsep Avetikovich arrived in Abkhazia on a working visit.
The doctor was in Abkhazia from March 25 to April 2. During this time, he held a three-day free reception for children with disorders of the musculoskeletal system. He spent two days receiving at the Sukhum’s Children’s Rehabilitation Center, and one day at the “Asarkial Center” for Social Adaptation and Rehabilitation (Gudauta).
During the stay of the orthopedic doctor in Abkhazia, he examined more than 100 children. During the examination, children were identified who needed urgent surgical treatment. After that, three orthopedic operations were successfully performed on the basis of the Republican Children’s Hospital in Sukhum with the participation of surgeons of Abkhazia: Kalenjian Elina, Urusyan Albert and Trapsh Dominika.
Also, during his stay in Abkhazia, Ovsep Avetikovich, together with local specialists, made casts for 7 orthoses; the Ashana Foundation will continue to open a fundraiser for the purchase of these orthoses.

Such working visits of specialists from different countries and exchange of experience will allow our medicine to develop and move to more effective methods of treatment, as well as significantly increase the number of healthy residents of Abkhazia.
